OUR HISTORY
The Lameroo Hawks Football and Netball Club boast a strong and proud tradition!
Formed in 1991, with the amalgamation of Lameroo South and Lameroo North, the iconic black and yellow adorned our ovals and courts around the Mallee Football and Netball League for over 40 years!
CLUB SONG
“Down in the Mallee where the sun shines best
There's a team that beats the rest
We're from a town called Lameroo
We're the best you ever knew
We like our football mean and tough
If you don't like us you can go and get stuffed
Hawks are known for their great pace
Number one's our only place
We're the best
Stuff the rest.”
Our final year of the Lameroo Hawks Football and Netball Club was in 2022, and the website still retains some information from our final year of operation.
OUR PRESENT JOURNEY
The demise of the Mallee Football and Netball Association has seen great changes for the Lameroo Football and Netball community. Our Football and Netball Clubs (while still operating a ‘house end’ for hosting matches and trainings at the Lameroo Sports Club), has now joined with Pinnaroo to form the new club of the Southern Mallee Suns, which is part of the River Murray Association.
While a period of great change was upon us, the birth of the Southern Mallee Football and Netball Club has provided terrific opportunities for sustaining healthy sporting competition, now and for many years to come. Please visit the Southern Mallee Suns website for further information on our new look, competitive club competition.
